Who? What? Where? When? Why?

During my humble education one of the first things I learned that stuck with me is the maxim of 5 Ws. To any event or story we attend ourselves, we consciously or unconsciously ask, Who? What? Where? When? And Why? Or some order thereof. This maxim is used in all manner of research from the most basic to the most obscure.

As I write this post, the Christian celebration of Easter 2021 has come to an end, and we are about to begin a new work week perhaps with reflections upon the totality of that celebration and the consequences of the event that may impact our individual lives. Yet my approach will not be straight forward. I’d like to introduce some information that comes to light some months if not years after the historical Passover celebration culminating in the crucifixion of Jesus so long ago.

In my earlier post Art of War in the Heavenlies: Part Two I make reference to the fact that the Devil or Satan could not kill Jesus himself, this had to be done by human agency, and history records that the SanhedrIn, the most high council of Jewish religious temple priests in Jerusalem shouldered the death of Christ. In their eyes Jesus posed a threat to their dominion in spiritual matters concerning Jews, and for me to use a crude analogy, they couldn’t afford to have a Donald Trump-like fellow drain their swamp! They needed Jesus out of the picture, and they proved to be very zealous to the task.

Think of this, at any point along the way of Christ’s suffering, he could have stopped the process. He could have called for angel help, he could have commanded the heavenly host, he could have come off that cross and stood before his tormentors. All these actions would have proven his deity, his oneness with God. The world would have stood there in awe before a god that could not be mortified. But his doing so was not the ultimate goal.

While we are thankful history records the crucifixion of Jesus, he being the promised Messiah, the Christ and all, with Scripture stating that he was appointed once for death, for remission of the sins of the world, such was not the finale of God’s plan. Christ died is of no question, it is fact. History records the 5 Ws of it in numerous accounts. Yet one salient fact remains, the totality of Christianity hangs on his resurrection! And for that, there is also 5 W data if one is willing to believe it.

In the Apostle Paul’s first cryptic letter to the brethren at Corinth, chapter 2 he intimates that the gory crucifixion of Jesus had been God’s plan all along, the fulfillment being shrouded in mystery, something so magnanimous that only the God was privy to, and none of the other occupants of the heavenly realm were privy. You see, most people read the Bible account and superimpose a contrived vision of Jesus as a dirty-toed sandal-wearing guru traveling the dusty roads sharing whimsical anecdotes germain to life experiences, perhaps buddha-like in his presentation, occasionally ministering in such a way that people are made to feel better or even recover from an ailment! That was Tomas Jefferson’s perspective, and he too, discounted the miraculous!

The earthly ministry of Jesus was actually a proclamation, a proclamation made to the fallen powers of heaven that had obtained spiritual control of God’s earthly creation, and here I take liberty to paraphrase, “I have come to do the will of my Father, and that not of myself!” In essence, “Through a means acceptable to the heavenly council, I will pluck the power from you, Satan, and re-establish a right relationship with creation!”

In Genesis 3:15 we find the first glimmer of hope for mankind in a curse aimed at the Edenic interloper, known elsewhere as Lucifer the bright shining one. “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall bruise/(crush thy head (resurrection), and thou shalt bruise his heal (Crucifixion).” [parenthesies mine] The resurrection was the ultimate, consumate blow to the powers of darkness here in the earth, and heaven. The resurrection from death proved the god-head Messiahship of Christ, and brought to naught the repetative, ongoing Jewish religious traditions. The resurrection was God’s secret weapon. Without the resurrection there is no more importance to being a Christian than a mom who joins the PTA!

So secret was this move, Apostle Paul writes in I Corinthians 2:7,8, “…we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the ages unto our glory; 8 Which none of the princes of this [age] knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” This verse references those controlling spiritual forces, fallen angels, that had worked behind the scenes to influence mankind in evil workings here in the earth. Christ’s resurrection stripped these forces of their lawful power, and gave warning that the end for them was near!

You might ask, “Why all the evil in the world today then?”

Scripture states that Christ must reign sitting at the right hand of the Father until all his enemies are made His footstool! Now, if he is sitting and reigning like a king, who is fighting the battle? What kind of battle(s) is there? Where is this fighting being held? The When and Why of it I think we all know. It is going on around us right now! At no time in history has there been such a massive move on the part of people who love freedom, and yet, their efforts seem paltry. In the past 50 years more and more people have come to America from the outside than in any other period. For the most part these people have grown up under harsh if not controlling, even totalitarian governments that constantly repress their souls. Rather than America being a wholesome oasis, it has become a cesspool of corruption, indignation, resentment and repression. No wonder people do not trust authority, evil extends from our very neighborhood streets right up into the Chambers of lawmakers in Congress! Individuals hopeful to change the system by their very presence in Washington, become embedded themselves in the unjustness, forever entangled in the evil that emanates from D.C.

This mentions just the evil you can put your fingers on, the evil that occasionally leaks to the press that will print of it. What we cannot see or know is evil at the highest levels. Scripture calls it wiles of the devil. He is alive and working feverishly, for he knows his time is about to end. Concerning last days, Jesus once said, “Men’s hearts shall fail them for fear of the things they see coming upon the earth.” Maranatha!

Who? What? Where? When? Why?

P.S. I have not cited my references in this post, you can fact check easily!
